What do You want from your Creative Business – Video Blog –

In my last blog post I offered the one question that will help you ensure that the creative business you are building will be one that works for you over the long haul.

Today, I want to dig a little deeper into this and give you a glimpse into how I have used this question to help me make sure I am building a creative business that works for me and how you can use the same question to build some clarity around how you should be designing your business.

I had a couple of free minutes (about 12 to be more precise) so I made a quick video blog – is that called a vlog? –  for you.  (Please look past the messy kitchen in the background – this is real life up in this house.)

Now it’s your turn.  Grab a piece of paper and pen and set a timer for 5 minutes.  For those five minutes answer the question “what do you want from your creative business?”  There’s no right or wrong answer.  Don’t censor yourself.  Just write what comes to you.

Then walk away and revisit what you wrote later today or sometime tomorrow.  When you come back to your brainstorm pull out the pieces that are most important and make a list of 3-5 things you want your business to provide in your life.

Is your creative business aligned to your list?  If not, what changes can you start making today that will help you design the right business for you?

Now I’d love to know what you discovered.  Go ahead and leave me a comment below.

And if you think someone else would find this post helpful, please share.
