The First Chapter ~Silver Spring, MD Maternity Photography ~

I love photographing newborns.  They bring so much promise and possibility into the world.  There is nothing quite like being in the presence of a new mama and her fresh baby.  It’s no surprise that new parents can’t wait to get newborn pictures done.  It is such a monumental chapter in  your life, in your child’s life.  But it’s not the first chapter.

The first chapter starts with all you soon-to-be mamas.  There is something so beautiful about an expecting woman.  There is something so special about that time that only mom and baby can truly share.  You already know this little life.  You’ve heard their heart beat, and they’ve heard yours!  You’ve felt them kick, roll over and hiccup.  Right now, nobody in the world knows your baby as well as you do.  You are doing the most sacred work – creating perfect and pure life.  This is the first chapter!

I want to give my pregnant mamas a beautiful and classic maternity portrait – the first mom and baby portrait.  The first portrait of a lifetime of memories.  Something to mark this chapter in your story.   I believe this time is so important that I gift my newborn clients with a complimentary maternity session.

Meet Carrie.  Isn’t she radiant?  Carrie is expecting baby number two and I got to spend a couple of hours with her and her first daughter.  She’s already got this parenting thing down.  Big sister was so excited to tell me all about the impending arrival of her new baby brother or sister and wanted to get all dressed up so she could get in on the photo session.

I work to make these sessions fun and easy.  I remember how exhausting and uncomfortable pregnancy could be.  I strive to make my expecting mom’s comfortable and confident during their session.  Using light and posing I aim to capture the beauty of pregnancy.  I want all of my mom’s to see themselves as the beautiful and amazing women I see them as.
